Core Financial Knowledge for Board Directors (3 part Series)

Core Financial Knowledge for Board Directors:  Financial expertise is a key skillset for board members.  All board members do not need to be financial experts to add value to a board.  However, a baseline ability to read and analyze financial statements, understand value drivers, as well as identify red flags, is necessary for effective oversight.  This 6 hour course provides an introduction of financial concepts that relate to board oversight decisions and provide the background for the aspiring director to gain confidence in the ability to contribute to asking the right questions.

  • Week 1:  Financial Statements:  Assessing Company Performance and Devising Strategy

  • Week 2:  Understanding Valuation and Driving Corporate Value

  • Week 3:  Evaluating Transactions

  • Week 4:  Activism
